Established since 1964, The Singapore Institute of Management (SIM group) is a leading provider of higher education, offering a range of diverse education pathways and professional training in Singapore.  

Founded as a not-for-profit management institution, the SIM group is a diverse organisation catering to different segments of learners through the following brands, with the most widely recognised being their SIM Global Education (SIM GE) programme:

SIM Global Education (SIM GE)

A leading private education institution in Singapore, it offers more than 80 academic programmes ranging from its own diploma and graduate courses, to Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes with reputable universities from Australia, United Kingdom, Europe and the United States. SIM GE’s holistic learning approach aims to equip students with an all-rounded global education through a diverse cultural learning environment. 

SIM International Academy (SIM IA) offers the Cambridge IGCSE and international A level programmes for students aged 12 to 18. This programme however, would be discontinued by 2020.  

Singapore Cambodia International Academy (SCIA), a full K-12 school catering to students from pre-school to year 12. The campus is situated in Phnom Penh City Center, Cambodia. 

SIM Professional Development (SIM PD) offers courses for C-suite executives and professionals to stay relevant in the marketplace.

SIM admission criteria

SIM Global adopts a holistic education approach to develop students with a global edge for the global workplace. Full-time courses include Foundation Programmes, Diplomas, Bachelor Degree, Master Post Graduate programmes and preparatory courses.

The admission criteria differs for different profiles of students. Ensure you have met the academic and English Language requirements for the programme.

SIM scholarship

The SIM Global Education Scholarship is awarded to international students to pursue their Bachelor’s degree programme at SIM Global Education (SIM GE). Student must possess the followings as part of the qualifying factors:

• Outstanding Singapore-Cambridge GCE Á’Level, Local Polytechnic Diploma, IB Diploma or Year 12 equivalent results
• Outstanding community involvement and co-curricular activities participation record
• Possesses strong leadership quality, interpersonal and communication skills

The scholarship covers the course fee, examination fee and book allowances. Application deadline is usually in September, where applicants must complete and submit their application form to: Box 15: SIM Global Education Bursary & Scholarship Box, SIM Headquarters Blk A, Level 2, 461 Clementi Road, Singapore 599491.

SIM school fees

The study fees varies across schools to type of programmes.

The most popular University of London programme at SIM GE ranges between S$20,000 to S$30,000.

University of Buffalo, The State University of New York, US course fees ranges from S$60,000 to S$80,000

SIM campus

To facilitate students’ learning, the campus boasts a huge library, cosy lecture theatres, classrooms, labs and recondite corners for small group discussions.

Aside learning areas, there is also a gym, sports and multi-purpose halls, wellness centre, canteens with wide spread of food options and a 400-seater performing arts theatre for student performances.

SIM student life

SIM GE education encompasses a spectrum of activities outside of the typical classroom. SIM GE launched the Project 1095 to help students become more marketable to future employers, with a host of other learning opportunities outside classroom learning. Ranging from career development programmes, overseas immersion trips, leadership and development courses to student councils, these programmes aim to develop practical skillsets and enrich in the global experience.
